Movies I've watched over THANKSGIVING BREAK! [PART 2]

.Made of Honor
Movie Summary from INDB.com: "Made of Honor revolves around Tom and Hannah, who have been platonic friends for 10 years. He's a serial dater, while she wants marriage but hasn't found Mr. Right. Just as Tom is starting to think that he is relationship material after all, Hannah gets engaged. When she asks Tom to be her "maid" of honor, he reluctantly agrees just so he can attempt to stop the wedding and woo her."
This movie was like "My Best Friend's Wedding" from the guy perspective. However, Tom is a man slut. I don't know how else to say it. It's ridiculous. Inside, your loyalty is totally torn, because it's absolutly repulsive and disturbing how he uses and regards women, and then suddenly you're expected to feel sorry for him and cheer for him... and he actually gets the girl! I was actually yelling "WHAT ARE YOU THINKING?! He's going to get bored and leave you in like 5 minutes!!!" Not only was this movie annoying and confusing; it was a waste of time. Don't even bother.

.Four Christmases
Summary from IMDB.COM: "Brad and Kate have been together three years, in love, having fun, doing all sorts of things together with no intention of marriage or children. Christmas morning, they're on their way to Fiji, having told their two sets of divorced parents that they're off to do charity work. Through a fluke, they have no choice but to visit each of their four idiosyncratic parents. As the day progresses, Brad and Kate remember growing up, each learns more about the other, and Kate realizes that her life may not be as good as it could be. Do they know each other well enough to weather the storms families bring?"
This movie was just kind of disturbing on multiple levels... it portrayed relationships as destined to fail, families as a burden that ought to be avoided at all costs... and lots of dysfunction in families. It's another "if we're so happy, why get married?" movies... it reminded me of "The Break-Up", and the common denominator seems to be Vince Vaughn. Not for one moment do I believe that commitment will deminish happiness. Stop feeding us lies, Hollywood... especially in movies with Christmas themes. >:/
