Movies I've watched over THANKSGIVING BREAK!

.Inception
This movie is amazing. I don't want to spoil it... but it tackles SO many big issues; free will, suicide, disillusionment, how much those closest to you can influence...

.The Divine Secrets of the YA-YA Sisterhood
JUST PLAIN WEIRD. It's a cult that these four girls formed when they were young, and now they're nearing the end, still practicing these childish rituals. If Sandra Bullock wasn't in it, I would have quit within the first 10 minutes. The story line involves a HIGHLY dysfunctional family, and, by the end of the film, you begin to feel a bit kooky and paranoid yourself. It's surprising that the movie ends happily-- with a seemingly quick resolution between feuding parties, but it does.

.Surviving Christmas
This movie is such a mixed bag... of absolute hilarity, complete nonsense and stupidity and romance. There were moments that I was bored and moments I couldn't stop laughing. Part of the story line involves pornography... which is troubling the way that it is swept under the rug. All in all, it is a worth-while movie, and makes me very thankful for my family.

.Amelia
This movie stars Richard Gere and Hilary Swank. I am a Gere fan... and, although I have never really liked Swank, I am warming up to her. This movie is a beautiful mix of Amelia's determination and adventurous spirit and her personal life, namely her precious relationship with her husband and her affair, played by Ewan McGreggor (of whom I am ALSO a fan). I don't know how historically accurate this movie is; from what I've read, it seems to be spot on... either way, this is a cinematic jem. Go see it.
